Here's to Another Year - Part One

It was that time of year again…It was our Third Anniversary. Which meant… we would be taking a trip soon.

Trip Dates: December 13th- 15th 2019

So let’s just say originally the trip was supposed to be four days, with us getting to Massanutten, Virginia December 12th but that was our friend's birthday so we of course adjusted. I think this year because the trip wasn’t as long as our previous year's trips we didn’t plan this one super early… I think we started planing in October or at least we brought it up. We were looking for something that wasn’t crazy in the driving time so we landed in

Massanutten Ski Resort

in Virginia. Devonte booked the hotel and we all we had left was to save up money. Sidenote: The book now pay later option is the GOAT

Day One

The nice thing about Massanutten, VA was that it was only about 4 hours from our house in Charlotte, so we didn't have to get up at the crack of dawn to start traveling. We left around maybe 8-9 am. And typical me I was out by the first hour and a half of the drive. I honestly don't know what it is about riding shotgun... it just puts me to sleep. Devonte put on his podcast and i just drifted to sleep.

There were time's I woke up though and offered to drive so. You can't say I didn't offer.

We arrived in the area around 1 pm, so we still had to spare before we could check into our hotel. As a result of my terrible packing skills, I asked to stop by ross so I could get comfortable walking boots so my feet wouldn't freeze in the snow. I had only packed vans, crocs, and like heeled boots. I found a pair of burgundy knock off timbs and then we decided to go visit the actual resort to kinda scope the place.

We got one of the activity books to check out prices before we headed back to check into our hotel and to unpack. We planned our activities for the rest of the night and tomorrow before we changed clothes and headed out to get dinner.

We went to a bar/burger joint called:

Billy Jacks

. I think. But regardless... it was kind of like going into a pub on the beach. It was crowded with college students. The food wasn't terrible. It just didn't like wow us. It was just your average ba food to be honest. They had a cute Christmas mixed drink menu though. And it looked like Cristmas elves threw up all over the place with the amount of Christmas decorations there were.

So we left after eating and paying the bill. However, WE WERE STILL HUNGRY So we decided to walk to

Food Bar Food

which was this very modern chic resturant/bar area. There I tried this apple cider with caramel rum in it. It was warm so it was welcomed as outside was chilly. Afterwards we walked back to

Ruby's Arcade

. I challenged Devonte to a game of ping pong and that's how we ended our night. Me smoking Devonte on the ping pong table.
