Sooo It's Christmas...
It's been almost 24 hours since I've gone to sleep. (Ironically majority of the 24 hours I've been working on this website.)
It's Christmas Day.
And I'm sitting here in the Kannapolis Train Station trying not to fall asleep. I don't know why I thought it would be a good idea to stay up. But the upside to this is that the house is clean.
So it's Christmas.
Sadly, as the years have passed this day is slowly losing its magical feeling. Do we blame the fact by this age we all know that Santa is just a way to get kids to behave? Or do we blame society for throwing adulthood into our laps?
It's safe to say that once we go off to college, holidays take on a whole new meaning. They're not only a time for celebration and family coming together.
It's a mental break.
We take for granted the times we spend with our families until the time comes when you CANT spend time with them anymore because they no longer walk this Earth.
If there's anything, I'm jealous of other people of it's the times they get to go home and see their family and get a home-cooked meal.
I'm jealous of the people who see their siblings more than four times a year; of the people who are less than 100 miles away from their family.
I think we forget about the people who can't make it back to be in their presence of their families. Whether they're college students or in the military, deployed.
I think we forget the toll it takes on them.
I think we take the opportunities to create new memories with our family for granted.
But it's Christmas. And this is one of those four times I get to see my Family.
