The Last 6 Months...

Crazy how time seems to keep speeding up. But I think I agree with all the big wig scientists and philosophers that time is just an illusion. But nevertheless, here's my Last Six Month Recap. So I think the easiest way to do this is just going through each month starting in June.

June:

At the beginning of the month my close friends

Cheyenne and Kevin

got engaged and I was lucky enough to help plan...more so decorate for their surprise after-party. Shortly afterward I was on a contracted flight to California to help provide additional medical coverage for a deploying National Guard Unit.

July:

well... I was still in

California

. Honestly, I appreciated my time there. I was able to shadow under various Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Special Forces Medics, a Physical Therapist and a Doctor. I honestly don't think I could have gotten that experience here in North Carolina. and I mean I met some cool people along the way.

August:

el oh el. I'm still California. But right before September hit me and the other medic left were able to get a flight back to North Carolina. But let me tell you the Mississippi Guard...they're interesting people to be around. Also, I completely screwed up my sleep schedule because I was on the third shift for a good half the month and then that was switched to pretty much second shift. OH! I almost forgot... I

reenlisted

in the North Carolina National Guard.

September:

So we came back to North Carolina, had a short break and then we spent the rest of the month down in

WILMINGTON, NORTH Carolina

at the port, providing medical coverage for Port Operations, where we watched close to a thousand military pieces get loaded into a ship to be sent halfway across the world.

October:

I started a new job! And it was full-time! Along with that, I semi-moved back in with my mom, in

Goldsboro, North Carolina

. With the move, I decided to buy my first big-girl plants to help liven up my room (which they're doing great by the way). Also this month I attended my first Graduate Chapter meeting with Delta Zeta and went on a double date with my brother and his girl friend to the State Fair.

November:

I took my mom on a date to

Durham

where we ate lunch at a brewery and walked around the Duke University Botanical Gardens. It was nice just to enjoy each other's company for the day. Thanksgiving Day I joined the ranks of people who compete in the annual Turkey Trots.

December:

In the spirit of traditions, Devonte and I went on our anniversary trip, this time to

Massanutten, Virginia

. I finally saw results in efforts of improving my physical fitness... when I took my annual PT test and dropped 2 minutes off my 2-mile time.

The last six months probably weren't what I thought they would be post-graduation. I sure didn't see my current job coming my way, but here I am. There were days that I was just so happy to be doing what I was doing and trust me when I say there were also plenty of days that I cried from who knows what. (probably stress I caused myself)

Six months later I'm appreciative of the adventures and the friends that came along the way.
